We've taken down 3 walls-to open up the entry, family room, kitchen, and dining room, removed a very stubborn kitchen floor (thank you Allen and James for your hard work!), thrown some 40-year-old avocado green carpet out the front windows, moved a toliet to the back porch (I don't think the neighbors have noticed it yet...they're still waving and being very friendly), and removed about 10,000 leaves from the backyard. I told Jer that while I KNOW it's going to be wonderful when it's all done, it's a strange thing to see your house look worse and worse every day that you own it! Keep checking back though...it's gotta get better soon! Right, Allen?! :)

Well, I actually think it does look better! It looks like someone less than 100 years old lives there now, and is going to love the daylights out of it. I've seen the stuff going in and can't wait to see it finished. I was thinking how fun it's going to be the first time you three sit down at your table and have supper, after having gone through this big mess. One day at a time, it'll get there. I'm armed with a paint brush, ready to help - just tell me where to start.

I love the snow shovel in the kitchen...it gives you an idea of how much stuff you all are tossing out of there!

Wow! Think of it as plastic surgery--you always have to look much worse before you can look much better! What exciting stuff going on; I wish I were there to come see and help! Save me a wall--I'll paint for you!! I love you to pieces, Sister!

The shovel in the kitchen says it all, Les. I love that you're sharing these photos - keep them coming. I can't wait to see the "after" pictures.

My husband and I have been wanting to MOVE for a LONG time but it just isn't happening. I hope our move is just as magical and exciting as yours and your sister Sarah's has been.I like her analogy between plastic surgery and remodeling your home, you always have to look worse before you look before. I just love your sense of humor Sarah:) Keep up the hard work and keep us posted. Judy
